The Dublin Lions and Lady Lions are returning home Friday night after strong performances in tournament play last week.
Lady Lions
The Dublin Lady Lions finished third in last week’s tournament at Gordon, scoring wins over Blum and Moran and a loss to Gordon
The Dublin wins included a strong 62-15 victory over Moran in which Gabby Herrera scored 19 point which included five threepointers. Sierra Chappa added in 12 points that game, while Naomi Dudley and Libertie Turner put in 6, Rianna Turner and Madilyn Loper added 5 and Madison Turley put in 4.
The ladies were 1-1 in district play as they headed into Tuesday night’s game against Comanche.
Lions
The Dublin Lions were 6-6 for the season heading into Tuesday’s away game against Comanche in the new Comanche gym.
This record followed a 1-3 appearance at the Brownwood tournament where the Dublin boys topped Levelland 55-50 and fell to Wylie 83-46. The Lions began and ended the tournament against Alvarado showing a marked improvement in their second round. (The fell 73-49 to the opponent at the beginning but were edged out 78-68 in the final game.)
