The Dublin Lady Lions varsity softball team closed out its season Friday, April 17, with a 13-1 road loss to Early.

Despite the outcome, Dublin saw contributions at the plate from several players. Tylor Nail recorded a hit, while Olivia Salyer added a hit and scored the team’s lone run. Cassidy Adair finished with a hit, an RBI, and a double, highlighting the Lady Lions’ effort to compete throughout the game.

Head coach Skye Gaitan remained optimistic about the program’s direction and the progress made over the course of the season.

“The season didn’t end how we wanted to, but this is definitely a good foundation that has been put down for the future,” Gaitan said. “We have a young team with lots of potential to be great.”

Throughout the season, the Lady Lions showed growth and resilience, gaining valuable experience against district competition and continuing to develop as a unit.

The Lady Lions say goodbye to five seniors, Cassidy Adair, Olivia Salyer, Yasmin Esparza, Nomi Thompson and Kaylee Hayes, who helped lead the team this season. Their leadership and contributions both on and off the field played an important role in guiding a younger roster and setting the tone for the program.

With seve n underclassmen on the varsity roster and nine more on the junior varsity squad, Dublin returns a strong core of young talent. That experience, combined with continued development, should help the Lady Lions build on this season’s foundation in the years ahead.
