Lady Lions put links in defense

Although the Dublin Lady Lions softball girls logged losses against Eastland (18-0) and Brock (15-0) headed into the week, the team has made several gains on the diamond.

“The last couple of games we have had our defense hold Eastland and Brock to 2 to 3 runs in the first 2 innings,” said DHS head softball coach Vanessa Longoria. “Our girls have had a different energy and our defense is stronger than ever—we just need to start putting the ball in play offensively in places [that we] aren’t.”

“I know the scores don’t show any improvement but we have improved since the first round of district,” Longoria added. “We just need to get out of our hitting slump and start having more confidence at the plate.”

The Lady Lions are headed to Peaster on Friday, April 5 to face the Greyhounds.
