The Dublin Lady Lions went 1-4 as DHS hosted schools in an invitation tournament Thursday, Aug. 24 and Saturday, Aug. 26.
The Ladies opened up play Thursday morning against Hico and scored 16 and 18 in two sets against the Lady Tigers’ 25s. Summer Anderson racked up an impressive 10 assists during the game.
The home team claimed redemption and hour later as they faced the Lingleville Lady Cardinal a pair of fiercely fought sets. Lingleville put up 20 and 21 to Dublin’s 25s. Anderson snagged another 7 assists while Paige Wilson claimed 5 digs.
The Lady Lions returned Saturday to face Clyde, where the Pride scored 12 and 15 in two sets. Anderson claimed 8 digs and 6 assists while Wilson had 10 digs.
The Dublin ladies ended their tourney play against Poolville as the home team put up 10 and 13 points in two sets. Yasmin Esparza accomplished 11 digs in the final game.
“The girls played great this weekend and we are continuing to work hard in sharpening our skills to be ready for District,” said head Dublin volleyball coach Nikki Granath.
