Dublin Lions and Lady Lions were busy last week battling Brock and Bangs.
The Dublin Lions slew the Bangs Dragons 70-46 in an away game Friday, rallying after a loss to Brock on Jan. 18.
“Everyone played well and we kept it simple with our up tempo game, said Lions Coach Wes Grisham. “Bangs played well defensively so that helped turned our game up. We had a lot of scoring across the board.”
Dalan Rasberry and Cooper Hubble led with 13 each, Ayush Patel and Hunter Warren with 11 each, Adrian Juarez 9 points, Ty Roberts 7 points, Christian Ramirez 5 points, Momo Lolohea 4 points, Tyler Harrell with 3 points.
Grisham reported the Lions had a great start (16-18) against the stateranked Brock in their 93-57 loss.
“Only scoring 8 and being out-rebounded in 2nd quarter slowed us down,” said Grisham. “The second half produced points but not enough. We outscored all the other district opponents who played Brock.”
In that game, Ayush Patel scored 19 points, Dalan Rasberry 17 points, Hunter Warren 6 points, Cooper Hubble 5 points, Christian Ramirez 4 points, Momo Lolohea 4 points and Tyler Harrell 2 points.
Lady Lions
The Dublin Lady Lions were edged out in a 36-35 nailbiter Friday night at Bangs.
Scoring for the Dublin girls was aided by Gabby Herrera (14 points), Sierra Chapa (12 points), NavaLee White (7 points) and Emma Vargas (2 points).
This followed a Jan. 18 loss to Brock, 50-22.
Herrera led scoring for Dublin with 12 points while Madilyn Loper added 4 and Naomi Dudley and Chapa contributed 3 each.
