HARGROVE

A much-loved mother, grandmother (nana), aunt and sister, Glenda Jo Strube Hargrove 81, of DeLeon, Texas, passed away Nov. 12, 2025. Glenda was born June, 28th 1944 in Dublin Texas. She grew up in Proctor and lived in the surrounding communities her entire life. She lived in Comanche and Deleon and most recently in Putnam, Texas.

She graduated high school from Dublin Texas. After high school she enjoyed a career as a beautician.

Glenda spent many years in the hair care business and owned her own shop in Comanche. Later she was a home health aide, where many times she was taking care of people who were younger than her. She was a very caring lady, who would put her life on hold to help others. She spent many hours helping her friends and people in need.

If someone was in need or going through a tragedy/ tough times, Glenda was always there. She would do whatever task that needed to be done. She organized and contributed to so many fundraisers that helped many people in our community. She will truly be missed.

Glenda also had a fondness for country music. You could always find her at the local dance hall, tapping her feet to songs by Jake Hooker and other local country music bands/ legends.

She is survived by her children, Todd Whatley, Ted and Dina Whatley, Melissa Hargrove and Lynn Hargrove. She was blessed with many grandchildren, Ethan Whatley, Dawson Whatley, Hannah Whatley and Tony and Claire Wilson. In recent years she was also a great grandmother of Hayes Whatley and Gates Ray Whatley. She also had many nieces and nephews and other family and friends who will miss her greatly. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband Don Hargrove and many of her direct relatives.

She was a wonderful woman who lived a life full of adventure. Not having Glenda around will leave a hole in so many hearts. She will truly be missed by all of us. We ask for people to keep her family and friends in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We ask in lew of flowers to please reach out to someone in need and provide them with a service or care. This is how she would have wanted it.
