Gaye Fetterolf Sharon Gaye Fetterolf, 74, of Silsbee found peace Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024.
She was born on August 15, 1950, in New Gulf, to Virginia Juanita Fling Jonte and Reverend Ralph Eugene Jonte, shortly before her twin sister, Sandra Kaye.
After graduating from Silsbee High School, Gaye attended Stephen F. Austin University, where she earned her degree. She is fondly remembered by the children she taught, serving in public schools and for many years as a Sunday School teacher in Silsbee.
She was a dedicated mother who treasured time with her children and grandchildren, an avid animal lover who delighted in her cats and birds, a faithful Christian and a proud Texan. Gaye delighted in the company of friends and strangers alike, but above all, she prized family, greeting loved ones with a warm smile and letting out an honest laugh as memories were shared and created.
Gaye could spend hours talking to her brother and sisters and always ended every conversation with several goodbyes and “I love you”s.
She shared her love through cooking favorite dishes, enveloping hugs, and the attention she gave those around her. Her absence will be felt but these memories will be treasured.
Survivors include her husband, Rick Fetterolf; sons, James Adam Fetterolf of Bridge City; and Daniel Alan Fetterolf and his wife, Christi, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Keira Fetterolf, and Amelia Fetterolf; siblings, Vicky Peters and her husband, Joe, of Buna; Sandy Gaudette and her husband, Norm, of Dublin; and Randy Jonte and his wife Patti, of Pearland; and nephew, Paul Gaudette and his wife, Wyndi, of Dublin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Reverend Ralph Eugene Jonte.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Youth Program at Silsbee Methodist Church.
Mrs. Fetterolf’s memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at Silsbee Methodist Church, 670 North 5th Street, Silsbee. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee.
