Easter is Sunday, March 31, bringing special significance to many in the area. Although all local churches will have their regular Sunday services on Easter Sunday, several local organizations and churches have scheduled special Easter events and services for the Dublin community.
These include: First Methodist Church will have several services for Holy Week: Maundy Thursday Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. with communion, Good Friday on Friday, March 29 at 6 p.m., Easter Sunrise Service in the atrium at 7 a.m. with a breakfast to follow. The church will also host its regular service at 11 a.m. The church is located at 630 Highland Ave.
The Church at Greens Creek (3695 CR242) will have a Good Friday fish fry at 5:30 p.m. on March 29 followed by worship at 6:30 p.m. The Easter service will be at 9 a.m. on Sunday followed by the annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m.
An Easter Sunday Sunrise Service will be hosted by Calvary Fellowship Dublin and First Assembly of God Church for the Lost and Found at Dublin City Park at 7 a.m. Sunday, March 31. Everyone is invited to attend, organizers said.
Double N Cowboy Church will have a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29. On Easter Sunday, they will host a breakfast at 9 a.m. followed by the 10 a.m. service and an egg hunt at 11:15 a.m. The church is located at 7202 E. State Hwy. 6 in Dublin.
At First Baptist Church, Sunday school will be held at 9:15 a.m. followed by Easter service at 10:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday. The church is located at 220 E. Live Oak Street in Dublin.
Cottonwood Church will be having Easter services with Sunday School at 9:15 a.m. with worship services from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Cottonwood is located at 273 CR 527 in Dublin.
Trinity Episcopal Church will be hosting its Easter Sunday services at 9 a.m. with refreshments afterwards. The church is located at 459 N. Patrick Street.
Easter Eggstravaganza at the Dublin City Park Saturday, March 30 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. More than 15,000 eggs will be onsite for discovery in four different age groups from birth to sixth grade. Calvary Fellowship will be serving up free hot dogs while Brookshire Brothers will provide water. Popcorn and rice crispie treats will also be served at the event. All hunts will begin at 9:30 a.m. There will be special prize eggs for each age division and coloring contest sheets can be turned in on site. All events are free and the park is located on Highland Avenue.
Lucky Vines Vineyard and Winery will be hosting an Easter egg hunt from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30. There will be four hunts: at noon, 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Adults are invited to come out, have a glass of wine while their kids hunt for Easter eggs in the vines. Lucky Vines is located at 675 CR 497 in Dublin.
An adult Easter egg hunt is being hosted at Sledge Distillery in Tolar, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Eggs will be hidden on the property and a hostess in the social hall will keep a log of outstanding eggs throughout the day so participants will know how many eggs there still are to find. Eggs will be hidden before opening and are available starting at 2 p.m. until they are all found or the business closes.
The distillery is located at 8210 Paluxy Highway in Tolar.
