Fishing Report

Body

GOOD. Water stained; 48-53 degrees; 8.73 feet below pool. Black bass to 8 pounds are excellent on jerkbaits and Alabama rigs in 6-12 feet of water. Staging up to a prespawn on the secondary points and mouth of cove pockets. Crappie are fair around the docks and brush piles on minnows in 10-15 feet of water. White bass are fair on crankbaits and small jigs. Catfish are slow at baited holes.

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 50-55 degrees; 0.11 feet below pool. There is some floating debris due to the recent rains so be careful navigating. The majority of Granbury striped bass and sand bass continue to be staging in deeper water on the main lake. Striped bass are slow to fair to 12 pounds on jerkbaits and swimbaits worked on the upper ends. Some sand bass catches have been reported in the river near Tin Top. Largemouth bass to 5 pounds are possible on spinnerbaits and soft plastics worked near deeper docks and main lake points. Best largemouth bass action is reported mid-lake and in the river near Tin Top on the warmest part of the day. Big blue and yellow catfish to 30 pounds continue to be caught on the upper ends fishing with cut shad. Some good crappie action on submerged structure midlake on jigs. On those warmer days some crappie can be caught in the back of the sloughs on small jigs and minnows. There have been some folks reporting some dead or dying fish in the canals. Baitfish are congregated mid lake in 30-40 feet of water. Catfish are good on natural cut bait.

POSSUM KINGDOM

FAIR. Water clear; 45-55 degrees; 0.69 feet below pool. Striper bass are fair to slow using swimbaits casted at the shore and are producing a few fish. Look for them in 5-20 feet of water. Sand bass are fair to good using small slabs and small jigs are the way to go, but some can be caught using small live bait also. White and silver are the preferred colors. Catfish are good using cut shad with good numbers of catches in 4-10 feet of water. Water clarity is steady at 2-8 feet of visibility.

PROCTOR

GOOD. Water normal stain; 50 degrees; 12.80 feet below pool. Bank anglers are reporting a good bite for crappie and catfish. Ramps are closed.

WEATHERFORD

FAIR. Water stained; 47 degrees; 7.33 feet below pool. Crappie are good in the crappie house with minnows and jigs. Mostly small catches with some keepers. Bass are slow, with a few catches in 15-20 feet of water using Texas rigs and crankbaits. Catfish are slow with live or cut shad in deep water.
