The Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas met at the home of Vice President Rita Cook for a covered dish lunch and installation of officers for 2023-2025. In addition, they celebrated the award of Six Star Status, the highest available, at the DRT National Convention which was held in Galveston May 4-6. The award is based on meeting such goals as presenting programs on history of the Republic of Texas to community organizations or schools, donating books on Texas history to schools, recognizing Texas Honor Days, and having a chapter of Children of the Republic of Texas. The chapter was also recognized for increasing membership. Six chapter members attended the convention.

One chapter member attended the ceremony honoring the victory of San Jacinto which was the final defeat of Santa Anna. The ceremony was held at the San Jacinto Monument near Houston on April 21, the 187th anniversary of the battle. The Treaty of Velasco Day, May 14, was the day a treaty was signed by General Santa Anna and Republic of Texas Interim President David G. Burnet in 1836. It is one of 13 honor days recognized by DRT and the Bosque River Chapter.
