Erath County Sheriff Matt Coates and County Auditor Kent Reeves presented on Friday, Aug. 5 Deputy Vanessa Griffin, Deputy Garrett Koonsman and State Trooper Brady Gray with the life saving award for their selfless quick actions in responding and assisting Reeves who has been seriously injured in a shooting last April. Their brave actions in an extremely dangerous situation contributed to the recovery he has been able to make.
