Chamber Chat

Body

Hello again, neighbors. We have some updates for you about Chamber priorities and upcoming activities.

First, we are excited to announce we have new Dublin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors officers and members! Please join us in congratulating incoming President Blanca Martineau, CCMC; Vice President Paul Gaudette, Dublin Citizen; Secretary Hazel Anderson, My Creative Confections; and Treasurer Rosemary Bencik, Dublin Market Days. Thank you for agreeing to serve Dublin and lead the Chamber in strengthening Dublin’s economy.

Other recent Board members include Rosemary Bencik, Brian Miller, St. Gobain; Pastor Victor Castillo, Harvest Fellowship Church; Brad Stanford, Two Story Systems; and Kristi Ratliff Watkins, St. Gobain.

Please also join me in thanking continuing Chamber Board members Juanita Torres, City of Dublin; Linda Beukeboom, Dreamcatcher Dairy; and Sandra Espinosa, Child Protective

Services, for their ongoing service to the businesses and people of Dublin.

Revised Priorities

You probably know that as the current (Interim) Executive Director of the Chamber, I am a half-time employee to the Chamber, funded by Chamber membership dues and various fundraising efforts throughout the year. Our new Board members want to ensure Chamber members and visitors to our town can find someone at the Chamber of Commerce Office and Welcome Center, so you usually will find me from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our offices at 110 S. Patrick, Tuesday through Saturday. Stop by some time and see me, and let’s brainstorm about how we can improve Dublin!

Since I’ll be spending my time in the Welcome Center, you’ll get to see your Chamber Board members out and about during the various events we hold for the community.

They will be planning and managing the many events we bring to Dublin. This donation of time and resources by the Board members and their associated companies is an example of the commitment they have for our town. It’s yet another reason to thank them for their devotion to Dublin.

Hispanic Heritage Festival Planning Underway

Planning for this year’s Hispanic Heritage Festival, under the leadership of co-chairs Juanita Torres and Sandra Espinoza, is moving forward. This week, join those interested in helping volunteer for the event or to offer ideas at the weekly planning meeting, held Friday at 9 a.m. at the Dublin City Hall. If you are unable to attend this event during daytime work hours, please notify us of your interest in attending and we will get you on the team. If you have Facebook, please feel free to join the Dublin Hispanic Heritage Festival Planning/Volunteer group.
