A charity golf tournament in honor of community backer “Mr. Mike” will benefit the Dublin Athletic Booster Club, reflecting the support he gave Dublin and its youth as member of the Dublin ISD School Board and Lions Club.
The Mike McFarland Golf Tournament has been set for Saturday, April 9 at PAR Country club with all proceeds going to the DABC. (Organizers hope to make this an annual event in memory of the Dublin backer, who may also be remembered as the owner/ operator of McFarland Grocery, as a substitute teacher and a as a Deacon in the First Baptist Church)
The deadline to sign up is tomorrow (March 25).
Cost for players to enter the scramble tournament is $200 per foursome or $50 for each player.
