A Tuesday afternoon meeting was held to hear reports of a special committee and suggest plans for the next year for the Chamber of Commerce. Committee members were: W.P. Hallmark, S.H. Prim and R.F. Picked. A committee to raise funds for the year’s work with the following members: Maurice Reid, B.M. Utterback and W.C. Long.

Feb. 14, 1947
During the annual meeting of the Dublin Development Club, Ed Sikes was chosen president of the club and Chamber of Commerce to take over from Joe T. Kennedy. New directors elected were: Bill Gaines, Mack Williamson and Joe Fletcher. Returning directors included: Walter Hamilton, C.E. Leatherwood, E.W. Harris, Bill Heiser, J.M. Hancock, W.D. Raley, T.J. Shillingburg and Robert Dale Burnett.
Thurman Branum was taking over operations of the Branum Grocery after buying it from his brother, Bob Branum.

The Dublin Museum was installing several new donations at the remodeled Lyon building including a prescription counter and office, which was given to the Historical Society by Helen Hines. Hines purchased the counter from Mrs. Ed Snead whose husband owned and operated the Dublin Drug and Jewelry for 45 years before his retirement in 1957.
The Camp Fire Girls planted a Black Japanese Pine tree in an informal ceremony in the southwest part of the yard at Perry Hall. The tree was dedicated to the memory of Cindy Dansby.

Feb. 13, 1997
Garvin Henson was retiring after 37 years of federal service, 28 of which was served on the Proctor Lake US Army Corps of Engineers as reservoir manager. A come and go reception was being held at PAR Country Club on his honor.
Baylee Barrett, daughter of Cindy and Dellmann Barrett, was pictured with a giant teddy bear she got for Valentine’s Day from Dublin Floral.
