BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 45 degrees; 1.80 feet low. Fishing weather is good as we head into a weekend with consistent weather and good winds. Largemouth bass are good with perch like crankbaits, brown or green Texas-rigged plastic worms; chartreuse bladed spinners, and shaky head jigs near timber, rocky shorelines, and docks. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles and near bridge pilings. White bass and hybrids are good on slabs, swimbaits, and live bait along the main lake channels, humps, and ridges. Look for birds diving over feeding schools of white bass. Catfish are good on shrimp, chicken liver, and live bait.
GRANBURY
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 43 degrees; 0.80 feet low. Striped bass are slow, scattered in 20-40 feet of water in the main lake channel on swimbaits, crankbaits, and deadsticking. Blue cats are good to excellent on cut shad, with fish up to 7 pounds starting to group up in 12-17 feet of water along lake channels. Larger blues are still roaming shallow flats in 2-7 feet of water and can be caught on cut shad, cut drum, and cut bluegill. Fishing around submerged and exposed timber, especially with roosting cormorants, will yield optimal results, but main river channel bottoms should not be ignored. The morning bite has been the best time for blues in larger numbers, with the bite slowing around midday. Shad schools are holding to the bottom in 21-31 feet deep in all areas of the lake.
POSSUM KINGDOM
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 45-53 degrees; 1.40 feet low. Striped and sand bass continue to be amazing from mid-lake north to the river. White, chartreuse and silver slabs, deadstick flukes are producing a good number of fish and even some larger fish. Catfish are good on the upper north end of the lake on cut shad fished on the bottom. Crappie are fair on mid to deep structure on jigs and minnows. Lake is in the mid 50s on the south end and as low as 42 on the upper north end. Each cold front continues to drop the water temperature.
PROCTOR
SLOW. Water clear; 43 degrees; 1.85 feet low. Fishing continues to be slow and will fluctuate as the cold fronts move in. Crappie are fair near brush piles in Copperas Creek Park on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair drifting in the high point area biting on cut bait. White bass and hybrid stripers are slow on slabs. Black bass are slow.
WEATHERFORD
GOOD. Water lightly stained; 42 degrees; 3.07 feet low. Fishing should improve some with the warmer weather this weekend. Largemouth bass are good on blue/back chatterbait or crankbaits. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows in brush piles. Catfish are fair to good using cheese bait.
