H.L. Harris was named the new Dublin ISD bands director. Harris was a graduate of DeLeon High School and Sam Houston State Teachers College at Huntsville.
The most recent Census taken by the Department of Commerce in 1945, showed that 70 percent of Erath’s 2,713 farms were operated by owners. A total of 2,603 farms sold $1,723,383 worth of crops and 2,562 farms sold $2,943,011 work of livestock and livestock products.

Ralph Harris, 25, an Abilene native was named Head Football Coach at Dublin ISD by the Board of Trustees. Harris was a graduate of Sul Ross State College at Alpine.
The Dublin Lions were 6-1 and at the top of District 10-A. Under the direction of Coach Eric Looney were: Steve Hightower, Randal Joiner, Terry Greer, Johnny Tate, Lyle Spurger, Alan Traweek, Keith Nichols, James Steele and Mike Boucher.

Tom Winder was set to assume the position of Dublin City Manager. Winder, who resigned as solid waste director for the City of Brady to take the job, was previously employed by city governments in Mesquite, Kaufman and Madisonville.
Roughly 400-500 people were served meals by band members and parents during the annual band fundraiser.
