Erath County Emergency Management Coordinator Cyndi Smith reported 35 new cases and 45 active cases of COVID-19 in Erath County in the most recent report Monday afternoon.
“We are seeing an increase of COVID-19 cases, wrote Smith. “It has been over a week since Thanksgiving and our numbers went back up on cases including hospitalizations and deaths. Please do your part to reduce the spread of COVID. With the upcoming holiday gatherings, please remember the basics.”
Smith encouraged washing hand regularly, wearing a facemask when around others you don’t live with and covering your mouth and nose when coughing with a tissue to discard immediately.
It was also encouraged for those unvaccinated or needing a booster to get one.
