Morning Star Ranch is hosting its first annual Star Gala fundraising event on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Celebration Event Center (9710 CR209 in Hico), with doors opening at 6 p.m.
Individual tickets are available for $50 each with all proceeds from the event benefitting Morning Star’s ministries.
The gala event will feature an evening of entertainment with Tomas Garcilazo, trick riding, Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey triding his trusty canine ‘steed’ and performances from some of the youth served by Morning Star Ranch.
A buffet style dinner will also be served with great food from Greer Ranch Café and a cash beer and wine bar. The event will also feature a silent and live auction.
Morning Star is a 501c(3), faith-based riding center serving Erath County and the surrounding area. This ministry launched in October of 2020. Through August 2021, the ranch has impacted and influenced over 60 children thanks to its staff of volunteers and generous donors.
Morning Star’s vision is for children to learn valuable life skills from engagement in the western lifestyle. The program is open to at-risk or disadvantaged children ages 4 through 12.
The program is specifically target at helping dealing with:
-Divorce in the home
-Financial hardships in family
-Non-tradition living arrangements
(living with grandparents, single mom, etc.)
-Placement in foster care
-Challenges in school or with peers
Participation in the program is done either through referral
