Dublin High School and several of its students are being featured in a professional music video due to come out in late October.

Recording artist and music label were kept private but will be revealed later.

DHS teacher Pam Kasinger, who acted as a coordinator with the filming crew, reported that the directors came to Dublin Secondary School campus several weeks ago to assess locations and meet with theatre students. The directors picked about a dozen students for main roles in the music video based on the types of characters needed and picked out several more as extras for the shoot.

The directors returned on Sept. 21 and 22 with the production team and crew from Septien Entertainment Group of Dallas. Full crew included a director, tech director, camera men, makeup artist, sound technician, choreographer and several production assistants.

Kasinger, worked with Julia Broussard (who was instrumental in founding the Film Friendly Dublin program when she volunteered at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce) and Dublin ISD Band director Ronny Luedke in coordinating with the film crew and communicating with the school.

Kasinger worked with students, costuming and coordinated class relocations and passing period traffic routes at certain times as needed for filming and also worked with the director to help direct extras scenes.

The crew was at the school from around 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days and had a schedule prepared so as not to interfere with classes and everyday school activities.

Locations used included the cafeteria, gym, hallway, classrooms, bathroom, locker room as well as a school bus.

“My favorite part of the process was watching my students and seeing their excitement as they participated and learned about the industry,” Kasinger said.

One of the aspects of the shoot that garnered the most excitement was the arrival of the choreographer (who reportedly worked with top musicians in the industry), who led the talent and students in a dance scene.

Kasinger reported there will be more “exciting things to come regarding this,” but they cannot be discussed yet.

There will be a red carpet premiere when the video is released in October. It will be live-streamed to the school so students will be able to celebrate their work.
