DHS to host more than 600 band students

The local community is invited to come out support the Sound of Dublin and 11 other bands slated to compete in the inaugural Harry Bradberry Marching Classic set for Oct. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Dublin Secondary’s Bob and Norma Cervetto Field. Cost for admission to the event is free and guests are welcome to come and go throughout the day.

The Dublin Band Boosters Club will be serving up a hamburger meal deal including chips and a drink for $6. All proceeds from the concessions during the event will go to the efforts of the booster club.

Slated to compete (in order) are Dublin, Cross Plains, Santo, Tolar, Early, Maypearl, Ranger, Meridian, DeLeon, Brock, Peaster and Breckenridge. This represents more than 600 students performing that day.

Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. with the final teams announced at 3:15 p.m. Finals performances will start at 5 p.m.
