Hico hosted the 74th Annual Jackpot Stock Show on Sept. 11 in the Hico City Park, bringing a large number of people and animals to the location.
The Hico Tiger Band voted to award Band Beau to Logan Theriot and Band Sweetheart to Jordan Evans. The announcement was made at the Hico-Moody Senior Night game on Sept. 3.

Hamilton High School Homecoming Queen Candidates for 2021 were Emma Griffin, Alina Eilers and Presley Sliger.
Lacy Alexander was named Hamilton County’s new Communications Department Supervisor/EMC.

2021 DeLeon High School Homecoming King candidates were Ethan Salinas, Timothy Wingeart, L.J. Herron and Kolbe Williams. Homecoming Queen candidates were Katie Alergia, Hannah Dyson, Haven Pounds and Daisy Otwell.
DeLeon High School hosted a patriotic pep rally on Sept. 10 in memory of 9/11 and first responders with pre-K students singing patriotic songs and sisters, Jenna, Jessica and Daisy Otwell singing “God Bless the USA.” DeLeon Volunteer Fire Department members also honored the memory of those who had fallen on 9/11 by standing in front of the Veteran’s Memorial Wall on the 20th anniversary.

John May and Juvenal Sierra, the vice president and president of the Comanche TexasBank branch joined Comanche Volunteer Fire Department’s Steven Gillette and Jeffrey Jacinto as they presented a $5,000 check being presented to CVFD on behalf of TexasBank and the James and Dorothy Doss Foundation.
Comanche High School students Brielle Kellems, Landon Deters and Esmeralda Guerrero headed to Washington, D.C, on Sept. 16 to participate in the SkillsUSA Washington Leadership Training Institute. Activities include Congressional visits, tours of Washington, D.C., laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and a visit to the SkillsUSA office in Leesburg, Viginia.
