Rodeo honors responders

Body

The rodeo returned to the Dublin City Park Arena Friday and Saturday night thanks to many local sponsors and the organization of Diamond Cross Rodeo. The Saturday event began with a special 9/11 recognition of local first responders in attendance as well as those who lost their lives 20 years before in the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001. The flag presentation and prayer was organized in conjunction with Dublin’s National Health and Public Safety History Museum. The event also included a lot of rodeo action, a wild calf scramble organized in cooperation with Dublin FFA, a mutton bustin’ event for kids and concessions. Diamond Cross pledged that a portion of proceeds raised through the rodeo will go back to the community in scholarships and helping local organizations. Cierra Hawk | special to the Citizen
