September 9, 1921

There were thirteen Erath county schools seeking teachers for the upcoming school year. They included: Acrea in Bluff Dale, Big Sunday Creek in Morgan Mill, Sunset in Stephenville, Center Grove in Stephenville, Hew Halsel in Lipan, Indian Creek in Stephenville, Little Sunday in Gordon, Mt. Airy in Dublin, Rush Creek in Thurber, Sims Valley in Thurber, School Hill in Lingleville, Winn’s Point in Sisk and Young’s Prairie in Dublin.

The Alexander Post Office was reportedly robbed on Sept. 3 with burglars taking $200 in savings stamps and eight dollars in cash.

September 6, 1946

F.L. Duncan, formerly of Graham, opened a new

Good Year store at the corner of Blackjack and Camden.

Dublin High School Cheerleaders for 1971 included: Nancy Grissom, Sheri Traweek, Mickey Hodges, Carmela King, Donna Stevens and mascot Angie Durham.

Dublin High School majorettes for 1971 were: Phyllis Bone, drum major Paula Hamilton, head majorette D’Lena Evans, Susan Warren and Vicky Palmer.

September 2, 1971

The Dublin Community Fall Fair reported there were 22 candidates for queen and 10 for Little Miss in the annual event set for Sept. 22-25.

Development was being performed at the Belfast addition which would reportedly bring city water and sewage service to the west side of Highland Avenue.

Dublin High School senior Minnie Buchanan was named “Little Sister” for the year by the Dublin Young Homemakers group.

September 6, 1996 Schedules were

Schedules were announced for the Tuesday Night Under the Stars at the Dublin Corner Lot with a gospel evening on Sept. 10 and Jim Glaspy and Lonesome Highway on Sept. 24.

The Norton Company, represented by Judy Strickland, presented a check for $600 to Johnette Knudson, the resource teacher for Dublin Elementary. The funds were for the purchase of a computer diagnostic test that determined the reading level of students.
