Dublin lost an avid community supporter when Troy Ashcraft died on Friday.
Ashcraft was a member of many community groups after he and his wife, Hazel moved to Dublin in 1990, including the Masonic Lodge (serving as District Deputy and Past Master), American Legion, Dublin Investment Club and the Stephenville Gideon Club.
“He was a tremendous servant for the Gideons,” said fellow Gideon Mac McKinnon, who added that he was active with many projects including church presentations.
Ashcraft also served many roles at Dublin First Baptist Church, using his wealth of experience in construction to help in building projects and as a Sunday School department director.
Ashcraft was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as Corporal.
For more information of his life and service, see the obituary on Page A4.
