Dublin won a game against Stephenville on the local baseball diamond with a score of 16 to 7. Dublin was set to play De Leon on August 7.

Aug. 9, 1946 Higginbotham Bros. & Co. advertised new items for the upcoming fall season. Women’s shoes were priced between $3.98 and $6.95. The ad read “Strikingly beautiful are our dashing exciting new shoes to compliment your new, fall ensembles. Soft leather, exquisite styling and autumn colors distinguish our new footwear. Select your pair today.”

Aug. 5, 1971

Tickets were on sale for the “Donkey” baseball game that was being hosted on August 7. Proceeds from the game went to the Little League fund to help with equipment and complete the season. A photo from the previous “Donkey” baseball game showed two men on the backs of donkeys, one trying to reach the base and the other trying to tag him out.

Aug. 8, 1996

Gerald Huckabee and David Vaughn were photographed studying the Texas Highway Department maps which proposed the widening of Highway 67 and 377. The Texas Department of Transportation were expected to spend close to $5.5 million for the purchase of 142 acres to widen the highway between Dublin and Stephenville. The end result of the construction was to result in fewer accidents and increased mobility.
