Body

The sound of percussion filled the Dublin Public Library Thursday as Kenya native Elizabeth Kahura led a group of Dublin children and parents in a drum circle during a special presentation on her culture. Kahura presented many artifacts for examination as well as a slide show where she taught the group basic African words including greeting and the names of animals native to her homeland. She also performed a song from “The Lion King” on drums. The special presentation was part of Dublin Public Library’s “Tails and Tales” Summer Reading Program. Reading Logs have been due through July with readers eligible for many great prizes including tickets to a Rangers game provided by First National Bank.
