On Monday morning, The National Health & Public Safety History Museum reported the loss of Pastor and Lt. Edward Weiss, whose influence was cited as the inspiration for his son and grandson, Eddy and Jon in founding the museum located at 136 E. Blackjack in Dublin.
Visitation and service will be held at Faith World Outreach Church in Bartlett, Ill., where he served. Those wishing to give a memorial may do so at https://fwochurch. com/pastormemorial or in his name at the Frontline
Heroes Museum.
The museum reported they may have shortened hours this week as the Weiss family deals with the loss of their loved one.
The NHPSHM reported the loss with the following Facebook post Monday morning:
Early this morning, The National Health & Public Safety History Museum suffered a great loss. The man that originally inspired the museum, Lt. Edward Weiss, Sr. passed away this morning. This man taught faith to thousands and passed along a legacy as a Frontline Hero.
The boots that this man wore both as a firefighter/ medic and in his retirement as a minister often walked where few would dare. Courage, bravery and compassion filled those boots. Fearless, strong in his faith and always ready for what was around the corner, he was an inspiration to say the least.
Take your place of honor Lieutenant.
His courage and his work will always be remembered here.
