Comanche Chief

A Comanche couple, David and Kerry Kersh, will be featured on HGTV’s Battle on the Beach on July 11. The new competition show features three skilled teams of house flippers who will compete each week in challenges set by the judges. The team who adds the most property value to the home they renovate (starting at 1,500 square feet) will win a $50,000 cash prize for the winners next flip. The Kersh’s were approached by HGTV in the past and filmed a pilot for the channel in 2018. While the pilot was never used, HGTV remembered the couple when coming up with Battle on the Beach. COVID-19 delayed the show’s debut in 2020. The couple said the renovation of the beach house was “some of the hardest work they had ever done.”

One fatality was reported from the Jeep and two from the Kia and according to Justice of the Peace Johnny Conine the victims were Thomas Leker (Cisco), Ian Leker (Cisco) and Lavenia Wickham (Navasota).
