    Monday marks the return of Memorial Day, a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives while serving in the Armed Forces.

    In honor of the event, The Powell-Davidson American Legion Post #219 is hosting a service at the Veterans Memorial next to Dublin Public Library at 8 a.m. on Monday.

    The special service will include a pastor to lead those gathered in prayer as the crowd recognizes those who made a great sacrifice for our freedom.

    There will also be a trumpet player on hand to play Taps.

    In observance of the holiday, The Dublin Citizen office will be closed with all deadlines for the June 3 paper moving to noon on Tuesday.

    The Citizen wishes everyone a special Memorial Day and thanks all who have fought for our freedom.
