Three incumbents were reelected to the Hico City Council after the May 1 local election. Those re-elected were Jason Finch, Charles Erick and Suzanne Schouten.

Heavy rain and winds blew through Comanche County and multiple photos showed the damage the storms had on the community. Photos of fallen trees and even a roof were featured on the front page. Winds were reported to be around 70 miles an hour on April 28.

After the May 1 election, Rodney Craddick was named the Mayor of Hamilton and will be joined on the city council with new member Doug Baker and incumbents George Beard and Todd Jordan. The Hamilton ISD School Board also welcomed new members Randy Lee and Diana Freeman, with incumbent Brenda Andrews’s barely missing re-election.

A photo of a car on its side marked a rollover that happened on Saturday. The DeLeon VFD assisted with the single car rollover. The driver and a child were trapped in the vehicle when help arrived and wet road conditions contributed to the accident.
