Early voting for the May 1 General election began Monday with Dublin voters casting ballots for Dublin ISD School Board.
Incumbents Charlie Bradberry, Raymond Salinas, and Jeff Weaver and Challenger James Moore are running for three spots on the board. (Voters will be able to cast ballots for up to three candidates)
Polls are open at the Erath County Courthouse in Stephenville (100 W. Washington) and the Dublin County Annex (219 S. Grafton) through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The polls will have extended hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) on Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 27.
Polls will also be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day (May 1).
Although Dublin only has one race to decide, Stephenville voters are deciding on several propositions and School Board candidates.
Issues that Stephenville voters are deciding upon include:
■ A $8M tax bond for designing, constructing and equipping a combined
■ facility for a library, senior citizens center and recreation center
■ A $5.385M tax bond for making revitalizing public improvements to the historic areas of Stephenville’s downtown
■ A $2.16M tax bond for improvements to Belknap Street from the Fort Worth and Western Railroad track to Mason Street
■ A $3.73M tax bond for improvements to First Street, Second Street, Fifth Street, Sixth Street, Cage Street and Swan Street
■ A $2M tax bond for extension of the hiking and biking trail in the city (known as the Bosque River Trail)
■ A race between Mandy McGee O’Neal and Sherrie Evans for Stephenville ISD School Board, Place 2
■ A race between Chad Elms and Sonia Sandford Stephenville ISD School Board, Place 3
