The Dublin City Council discussed an EMS building, approved new pool hours and the sale of property during a short regular meeting Monday night.
Dublin EMS Director John Tadlock was on-hand to discuss the need for a new EMS building and reported that it was determined that any development of a building in the parking lot behind City Hall would “essentially eat the parking.”
Tadlock requested the use of City property that wasn’t being utilized and presented two possible spots-one near the old waterworks and the other in the parking area behind the Rodeo Heritage Museum. Council members opted for the latter saying the spot on South Park Street would be a good place for emergency services. The unanimous (minus the absent Darrell Curry) approval of the site allows John Tadlock to consider designs and move towards seeking bids for the project.
The Council also approved new pool hours for the summer of noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. This will allow a Hico swim instructor to teach lessons on Tuesday and Thursday before opening and open swim from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The city is currently in need of two more lifeguards for the summer months.
Also approved was the sale of two alleyways between N. Post Oak and the old mill and a closed city well on Travis. The alleyways will consolidate property for Paul Bradberry while well site will consolidate the former stadium parking lot, which Keith Nichols is developing into four homes.
