Erath County officials reported four new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Thursday, April 8 that was released the next morning.

Three of the positive cases were within the city limits of Stephenville while the other was a rural resident of the county.

Total deaths since March 2020 were reported at 68 by the Department of State Health Services.

There were no current hospitalizations reported within the county.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced the repeal of COVID social distancing restrictions and the face mask mandate on Tuesday. March 2, saying Texans could make up their mind about wearing face masks and determine proper safety, Businesses were allowed to open at 100 percent capacity on Wednesday, March 10.
