Ragin’ Cajun returns March 27

Body

Mark your calendars for the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council’s (CTFAC) signature fundraising event, the Annual Ragin’ Cajun Crawfish Boil and Silent Auction, happening Saturday, March 27 from 6 – 9 p.m. at City Hall/City

Limits in Stephenville. CTFAC is thrilled to welcome back its largest fundraising event for the year.

“We were just two weeks away from the 2020 Ragin Cajun last March, when everything shut down due to Covid-19”, said Executive Director Christine Newton.

CTFAC is grateful to be able to reschedule the event for 2021.

Guests will still have opportunities to bid on many wonderful silent auction items from local business such as CAAM’s, Willow’s Scarlet Ribbon, Blue Flamingo, Baby Clay’s, Scott’s Flowers just to name a few.

Reserve tables are now on sale for just $750 and seat up to 8 guests. Individual tickets are also available for $100 each.

“Tables tend to sell out quickly for this event, “ said CTFAC Board President Kelijon Nance. “We encourage our guests to please purchase their tables as soon as possible to make sure they have a seat.” This year, the Ragin Cajun will also feature “To Go” orders of crawfish, boiled shrimp and all the fixings available on a first come/first serve basis.

Tickets and advanced purchase of “to go” orders can be reserved by calling CTFAC directly at (254) 965-6190, by going to crosstimbersfinearts.org or from one of their Celebrity Waiter Teams.

CTFAC is continuing its long-time tradition of having Celebrity Waiter teams from the local community, who compete to raise the most money by selling tables, collecting items for the silent auction and working the night of the event for tips.

The competition is fierce with the winning Celebrity Waiter team receiving a trophy and bragging rights for a year.

So far, this year’s 2021 Ragin’ Cajun Celebrity Waiters teams include Sara Vanden Berg and Lisa Pendleton; Tiffany Ivey and Haley Acker; Emily Moore and Adam Wylie, Jennifer England and Rosa Sifuentes; Valkyrie Mykelbust and Taylor Barnes; Brad and Lynn Hart.

All proceeds from the Ragin’ Cajun are used by CTFAC to fund local art activities and programs for the community.

Last year they were able to provide many free art related events such as local concerts, including world class Carnegie Hall musicians, as well as national traveling exhibits, such as the award-winning Caldecott Book Illustration exhibition, all at no cost to the public.

CTFAC also supports local artists exhibits in several public locations as well as hosting summer youth art camps, and monthly art classes for adults and children.
