Erath County officials reported three new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Monday, March 15 that was released the next morning.

Two of the positive cases were within the city limits of Stephenville while the other was a rural resident of the county.

Total deaths since March were reported at 67 by the Department of State Health Services.

Total COVID-19 cases increased by 11 (3,110 to 3,121) from the March 8 report to Monday night’s, while active cases decreased from 45 to 32.

Recovered cases were reported at 3,022 on Monday, up from 2,998 last week.

Current hospitalizations were reported at 1.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced the repeal of COVID social distancing restrictions and the facemak mandate on Tuesday. March 2, saying Texans could make up their mind about wearing facemasks and determine proper safety, Businesses were allowed to open at 100 percent capacity on Wednesday, March 10.

Erath County is continuing vaccine operations in the former site of the Stephenville JC Penney. Residents may register at co.erath.tx.us or by calling 254 459-5053 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Fridays.
