DISD renews contracts

The Dublin ISD School Board renewed contracts and settled the remainder of the retiring Dublin Athletic Director Bob Cervetto’s contract during the regular board meeting Monday night.

DISD Superintendent Rodney Schneider presented the contracts of the following positions with board members present unanimously approving his recommendation to extend those contracts: (Charlie Bradberry and Kent Crouch were absent.)

Assistant Superintendent Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Special Education Director

Campus Principal

Athletic Director

Assistant Principals

Counselors

Business Manager

Band Director

Schneider pointed out that one change the board would notice is Greg Hardcastle in the Athletic Director position as he was previously announced to take over on July 1 following the retirement of Bob Cervetto in his 41-year coaching career.

After approving the contracts, the school board unanimously approved to buy out the three years remaining on Cervetto’s contract after this school year. Schneider noted Cervetto was considering retiring last year when the COVID pandemic hit. The expected difficulties of the school year prompted Cervetto to stay on one more year.

“We appreciate you and Norma putting your life on hold,” Schneider said.

The board also unanimously approved the Election Services Contract with Erath County and called the Order of Election for the seats of Charlie Bradberry, Raymond Salinas and Jeff Weaver (See election story on page A1 for more information).

During the Report Agenda, it was noted that 45.6% of taxes had been collected with collections expected to to pick up significantly in the coming weeks and that enrollment remained steady at 1087 with new enrollments reported in each campus.

Board member were thanks for their service in honor School Board Recognition month by staff and administration in attendance.

“Thank you for supporting us and the kids,” said Dublin Intermediate Principal Amanda Lisso.

Before adjourning, the school board member agreed on rescheduling meeting from 6 p.m to 7 p.m. in the future.
