Nov. 30, 1945

Community members were invited to the Proctor School for a night of “Fun and Entertainment For The Whole Farm Family” on December 3. The advertisement said that four new pictures would show, “including a comedy and Walt Disney Short.” Doors opened at 7:30.

50 Years Ago

Dec. 3, 1970

Coy Wall was elected as the first president of the newly formed Dublin Historical Society after a unanimous vote on November 24, 1970. Other Historical Society officers were also elected including “Bill Cowan, Vice President; Mrs. Ozella Farris, second vice president; and Mrs. Betty Culpepper, secretary-treasurer.”

Several couples were celebrating milestone anniversaries. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Fincannon were celebrating 50 years; Mr. and Mrs. C.T. McMillian celebrated 50 years; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gilleland celebrated 50 years; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carruth celebrated 60 years married. A story marked Mr. and Mrs. George Martin’s 66th anniversary.
