Comanche Chief

The Comanche Chamber of Commerce released a statement that informed citizens that the “Explore Comanche Christmas” events have been cancelled this year. The Chamber came to this decision due to COVID-19 and the everchanging guidelines. “We are deeply saddened that the Lighted Christmas Parade, Jingle Mingle, Tour of Homes, pictures with Santa and Holiday Mixer will all be cancelled this year.”

Hico News Review

Director Chris Zuhdi completed work on his movie that was shot in Hico during the summer. Zuhdi’s second film “Mexican Moon” is set to be released in Los Angeles in a few weeks, his first film “Goodnight Charlene” can be found on Amazon Prime. Several locations in Hico were used in the film and local citizens helped with the film’s production.

For the first time in over 20 years the Hamilton Bulldog cross country team is heading to state “after placing second overall UIL Region II-2A cross country championships in Dallas.” The boys cross country team went to state for the first time in 1987, then again in 1988, 1993, 1997, 1998 and 1999 while coached by Mona Gloff. This will be Coach Brandun Massingill first time at state with the boy’s team. The state championship will be held in Round Rock at Old Settler’s Park on November 24.

The DeLeon Lady Bearcats have finished their season after losing to the Wink Lady Wildcats in a regional semi-final game. The Lady Bearcats finished their season at No. 9 following the loss. Final scores for the game were 25-11, 25-18 and 25-11.
