Oct. 5, 1945

Cpl. Howard B. Keith was released from a Japanese prison camp and was awaiting transport home. “Cpl. Keith was captured by the Japanese when Corregidor fell in May, 1942 and was freed from a Japanese prison camp at Omuta, Kyushu, Japan after three years in imprisonment as a POW.” Before returning home Cpl. Keith sent a cable to his family ensuring them that he was well and “hoped to see them soon.”

The Dublin Young Farmers were pictured holding the Outstanding Chapter Award and two other awards that were won at the Area IV Convention. Featured in the photo is Sam Morton, Travis Randals, Tommy Payne, Jerry Woods, Richard Pope, Lyle Spurger, Mike Tackett, Neal McKinney, Eddie Leatherwood and H.M. Whisenant.

A photo featured Kacey Howell escorting Homecoming Queen Felecia Swindle. Swindle was crowned queen during the pre-game ceremony and the Dublin Lions won their Homecoming game against the Early Longhorns 33-26.
