Voting for the May 2 local election will take place this Saturday with Dublin ISD, Stephenville ISD and Stephenville Council all having races.
Election Day hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2.
Vote centers are being utilized on Election Day, meaning you can vote anywhere in the county.
Election Day locations include: Erath County Annex III (222 E. College St. in Stephenville), Dublin Annex (219 S. Grafton in Dublin), Texas A&M Agrilife Research & Extension Center (1229 N. U.S. Hwy. 281, Stephenville) and Texas Bank (988 Wolfe Nursery Road, Stephenville).
For Dublin ISD, there are three candidates running for two seats: incumbents Ryan Mitchell and Blanca Martineau, and challenger Cole Leatherwood. The top two vote-getters will be elected to the board.
There are no contested races for Dublin City Council so Mayor David Leatherwood, Councilmember Place 2 Nancy Williams and Councilmember Place 4 Jacob McCullough will be automatically re-elected for another two-year term.
For Stephenville City Council, races include Mayor Lonn Reisman (uncontested), City Council Place 2 incumbent Gerald Cook and challenger Jorge Moreno, City Council Place 4 Dean Parr (uncontested), City Council Place 6 Ricky Thurman (uncontested), City Council Place 8 Alan Nix (uncontested).
Both City Council Place 3 Mark McClinton and City Council Place 7 Nick Robinson will be declared elected since they are running unopposed in a special election.
For Stephenville ISD School Board Special Election for Place 4 Jill McAngus and Jason B. Smith will face off against one another.
For the Stephenville ISD School Board General Election Place 6 Trustee Ben McCleery and Place 7 Trustee Donny Hill will both be declared elected since they are running unopposed.
Hico ISD is also running an election with three candidates competing for two seats on school board. Candidates include Ryan Wyatt, Gerben Vandermeer and Anna Denton.
There will also be a $22.1 million bond on the ballot “for the design, construction, rehabilitation, renovation, expansion, improvement, acquisition, and equipment of school facilities and the necessary sites for school facilities, with priority given to renovations and additions to the elementary and secondary schools, and the levying of a tax sufficient to pay the principal of and interest of the bonds and the cost of any credit agreements executed in connection with the bonds.”
Voters will either vote for or against the bond.
