Easter services set for Holy Week

A wide range of Easter services are on tap for this week, as Christians remember the crucifixion and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Thursday services

First Methodist Church will be hosting a service Thursday, April 2, for Maundy Thursday that will take place at 6 p.m. with communion.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dublin will host several services this week including Holy Thursday. At 7 p.m. there will be washing of the feet, with Holy Mass. The church is located at 12286 Hwy. 377 in Dublin.

At St. Brendan’s in Stephenville, there will also be a Holy Mass at 7 p.m. The church is located at 1444 W. Washington.

Friday services

Cottonwood Church will be hosting The Faces of Easter, an original theatrical presentation of the Resurrection story this weekend. The free performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Good Friday on April 3 and 3 p.m. Saturday, April 4.

The church is located at 273 CR 527 in Dublin.

Dublin Family Worship will be holding a time for reflection, praise and community with a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 3. The church is located at 604 N. Patrick Street.

First Methodist Church will host a Good Friday service April 3, at 6 p.m.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church will host the Living Stations of the Cross at 3 p.m. April 3.

In Stephenville, Cornerstone has several events planned including an Easter Family Fun Fair from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 3.

The event will include lots of games, bounce houses, popcorn, hot dogs (while supplies last) and an Easter Egg Hunt for ages 6th grade and under.

St. Brendan’s in Stephenville will host a Good Friday Mass at 7 p.m.

Saturday services

St. Brendan’s in Stephenville will host an Easter Vigil at 7:30 p.m.

St. Mary’s in Dublin will host Easter Vigil at 8 p.m.

Sunday services

A community sunrise service will be held in Dublin City Park at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 5.

The service is hosted by Dublin Family Worship and Church for the Lost and Found.

The event is rain or shine, and if there is inclement weather everyone can meet under the Pavillion.

On Easter Sunday, there will be an early service in the First Methodist Church atrium at 8 a.m. followed by breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. A traditional Easter service will also be held at 11 a.m. Sunday. The church is located at 630 Highland Avenue.

First Baptist Church of Dublin will be hosting a Lord’s Supper with its Sunday service beginning at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 220 E. Live Oak in Dublin.

St. Mary’s will host Easter Mass at 9 a.m.

On Easter Sunday, there will be a Community Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. at Birdsong Amphitheatre in Stephenville City Park.

There will also be services for Resurrection Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at Cornerstone with kids church and nursery available for both services.

St. Brendan’s Catholic Church will host Easter Sunday Mass at 10 a.m. and noon.
