The Dublin community is encouraged to support downtown businesses as work continued in earnest this week following the movement of a water utility line that delayed drainage work at North Patrick and Live Oak.
While work is ongoing, traffic may go around the first barricade near Granny Clark’s and the post office to get into the Brookshire Brothers parking lot or to the parking by Locked and Loaded Training Center. Standard sized vehicles may also enter the 100 block of North Patrick and the Patrick/ Blackjack intersection by using the opening on the left side of the barricade (by Walker Insurance).
TxDOT informed The Citizen on Tuesday, Feb. 3 that they anticipate Live Oak to reopen by the end of February, weather permitting. Work will then continue north on Patrick. On Tuesday, work from crews renovating drainage and replacing utility poles had closed North Park from the intersection of Pecan to Blackjack.
Businesses in the construction zone report negative impact on their sales since construction entered the area with several offering promotions and services to their customers.
Locked and Loaded began a winter shooting league Feb. 4 for its ammo-free target shooting using gas cartridges, cameras and projection screens. The 6-week league is broken into two-week sessions. For $29.99 per session, customers can use the range any time during the session and have their score recorded for the 30-minute range time. Optional cash prizes are available each session but shooters compete for their name engraved on the league plaque. The facility also offers Ladies Night Thursdays and Date Night Fridays. Regular hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday -Thursday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday - Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.
Dublin Floral is still delivering orders within town by calling 254-445-2355 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday. The shop is closed to regular traffic as arrangements and orders are being fulfilled out of their Stephenville location. Owners reported they are just trying to make do the best they can.
Golden Butterfly is open Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.5:30 p.m. and are still buying gold and silver jewelry while offering its own gold and silver jewelry at previous values. (The price of both has increased in recent months.) Pam and Richard continue to offer jewelry repair work while Pam has all manner of jewelry including the popular turquoise and estate finds.
Alabaster Beauty and Wellness is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. offering a variety of services that can be found online at https:// alabastermeddublintx.us/ Interior Dimensions is officially reopen for 2026 with new clothing and stock in its newly rearranged showroom. The store is open Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Christian Women’s Job Corps Thrift store is closed until Feb. 11 while they renovate the store and its variety of clothing, home goods, media, furniture and more benefitting the local ministry. Normal hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Walker Insurance and Insurance Advisors Agency/Identogo are also both open in regular hours to serve customers.
