A suspect is currently being held without bond in Erath County after allegedly threatening three Erath County officials.
Aaron Webb, 20, is being held on three counts of obstruction or retaliation, Third Degree felonies.
According to an arrest warrant, Tim Holzschuh, an investigator with the District Attorney’s Office, brought a letter to Assistant District Attorney Mackenzie Pack from a confidential informant No. 1.
The letter contained a statement from CI No. 1 detailing how on Sept. 16, 2025, Webb, an inmate at the Erath County Jail, had allegedly been openly discussing in the presence of others a plan to ambush or assassinate District Judge Jason Cashon, Assistant District Attorney Pack and a person named “Tully.”
“This letter was alarming and credible to Ms. Pack and to me because it referenced threats made on the date Aaron Webb had appeared in District Court for a Sept. 16, 2025 pretrial hearing relating to a pending felony indictment of Aaron Webb,” the warrant states. “I also determined through arrest records that Erath County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Taylor Tully had been involved in the most recent arrest of Aaron Webb that resulted in his incarceration at the time the threat was made.”
When Holzschuh interviewed CI No. 1, they confirmed the statement in the letter that Webb was frustrated from a court session and returned to the cell and began yelling about his plans to hurt everyone whom he perceived as wronging him, the warrant states.
Investigator Holzschuh then interviewed a second CI who declined to speak about the incident. A third CI confirmed that Webb did make the statements in the outburst described by CI No. 1 and was willing to testify to it.
Webb was arrested April 5, 2025 for an unrelated offense of Racing on the Highway and has been incarcerated in the Erath County Jail since that date.
He was also indicted in April 2025 for a deadly conduct discharge firearm stemming from an arrest made by the Dublin Police Department.
