Revitalize Dublin celebrates a year of growth, service, community impact

Body

Revitalize Dublin is closing out 2025 with a year full of achievements, community partnerships, and hands-on volunteer projects that strengthened our Dublin community.

The year kicked off on March 15 with Dublin’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, where Revitalize Dublin officially launched its new Home Improvement Grant Program. The initiative gives homeowners the opportunity to double their investment on exterior upgrades and beautification efforts—an early highlight for the organization’s mission to enhance local curb appeal.

Strong First Year for the Home Improvement Grant Program In its inaugural year, Revitalize Dublin received 11 grant applications—and approved all 11. So far, five projects have been completed, with Revitalize Dublin contributing $2,500 directly to homeowners for exterior improvements.

Four additional projects are expected to be completed by early 2026, while the remaining two currently have unknown status as the organization continues follow-up.

Beyond beautifying neighborhoods, the grant program also supported the local economy. Homeowners who shopped at Bradberry’s Building Supplies and Higginbotham’s contribute to the local economic activity, keeping dollars circulating within the Dublin community.

Just two weeks after the program launch, on March 29, volunteers partnered with the Texas Ramp Project and Dublin EMS to build a mobility ramp for a resident on South Camden Street.

A Record-Breaking Annual Fundraiser On May 3, Revitalize Dublin hosted its annual fundraiser featuring the rock band One Headlight, the popular Mr. Legs Contest, and a silent auction. The event raised a total of $11,220. Contributions included a $2,500 donation from Dublin Livestock Auction, $1,000 from Bo and Stephanie Kabala, a $50 gift honoring Rebecca Wall Earl, and $625 from Backwoods. Former Dublin resident Janet Keller, now of Fort Worth, who played a key role in helping secure more than 20 silent auction donations from local businesses.

New Leadership and Continued Community Service

In May, the organization welcomed two new board members—Joel Ludwig and Dalton Harris—both bringing valuable experience in home improvement and renovation projects. Later that month, volunteers rolled up their sleeves once again to assist with the City of Dublin’s annual Community Clean-Up Day.

The summer months brought the installation of new Fourth of July banners downtown.

Celebrating Freedom was the theme of the banners.

During the September board meeting, longtime president Lori Beggs announced she would be stepping down from her leadership role. The board unanimously appointed Carmen Andersen as the new president, with Beggs remaining on the board as vice president. Founding member Rod McNeal gave his resignation and the board thanks him for his hard work and service since 2023.

Fall Projects and New Community Resources

On October 4, more than 25 volunteers gathered for a major fence removal and rebuild project on Norton Street and completed it in record time thanks to strong community turnout.

In November, Revitalize Dublin announced a new beautification effort: the placement of two large rolloff dumpsters within the city, free for all residents to use. These dumpsters support citizens who may have accumulated extra household items and assist with maintaining cleaner neighborhoods. Expect to see the roll-off dumpsters again in 2026.

Looking Ahead: Goals for 2026 With momentum from a successful 2025, Revitalize Dublin is setting ambitious goals for the year ahead: ■ Expand the Home Improvement Grant Program

■ Increase outreach to help even more homeowners’ complete visible exterior upgrades in priority areas across Dublin.

■ Explore New Programs Supporting Elderly and Disabled Residents

■ Evaluate opportunities for expanded ramp builds, mobility improvements, and minor home repairs for neighbors who need extra assistance.

■ Introduce the Revitalize Dublin Community Scholarship

■ Create an annual scholarship for a graduating Dublin student who serves as Jr. Board Member, providing hands on experience, developing civic leadership skills and giving the youth a voice in the Dublin Community.

■ Recruit More Volunteers— Both Board Members and Project Volunteers

■ Actively grow the organization’s volunteer base by inviting more residents to serve on the board, assist with projects, join committees, and participate in hands-on improvement efforts throughout the year. With a successful 2025 behind us and ambitious goals for 2026, Revitalize Dublin remains committed to improving homes, supporting neighbors, and strengthening the community—one project, one volunteer, and one partnership at a time.
