Native American symposium set

Tarleton State University Fort Worth will host the “Still Among Us Symposium,” a communitycentered gathering to explore Native American perspectives through dialogue, scholarship and remembrance. The main event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, with a reception for the community starting at 6 p.m.

The event invites students, faculty and community members to engage in meaningful dialogue to honor Indigenous histories, explore their ongoing legacies and examine the importance of Native voices in today’s narratives.

The symposium will feature a distinguished panel of Native scholars and cultural leaders including Chief Edward Chretien and Dr. Jeffery Darensbourg of the Atakapa-Ishak tribe.
