Cowboy Fest 2025 set Saturday

Cowboy Fest 2025 will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Stephenville City Park. The free event will include carriage rides, vendors, guest speakers, live music and prayer tents.

Guest speakers include Colton Clark (Trail Life USA), Luke Coffee (actor and producer), Matt Coates (Erath County Sheriff), Vanessa Halford, Dr. Bo Cabala, Scott Knudsen (founder of Cowboy Entrepreneur), Hailey Knudsen (actress and co-founder of Cowboy Entrepreneur), Cody Spears (President of Turning Point USA Collin College Chapter) and Lena Anderson (Founder of Young Patriots of America).

Musicians include Paige Price, Jeff Price (2025 ICGMA Horizon Artist of the Year Winner and Neal Cowan.

The Stephenville City Park is located at 800 S. Graham Ave.

Safe Trick-or-Treat set Friday, Oct. 31 downtown
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Dublin business community will be hosting its free Safe Trick-or-Treat in downtown from 4-6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. 
Businesses that are not located in the downtown area that would like to participate are encouraged to call the Chamber of Commerce at 254-445-3422 for a spot downtown. Businesses will be handing out free candy, hosting games and other goodies. 
Trick-or-treaters are invited to head out into the community for annual door to door trick or treating after the event.

Harris' Old West Pumpkin Patch open this weekend
The Harris' Old West Pumpkin Patch will be open every weekend from 8 a.m. until dark located at 1129 CR 304 in Dublin.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids which includes wagon rides, games, concessions, photo opportunities and live music every weekend. A wide assortment of pumpkins are available for purchase.

Dublin Family Worship hosting Fall Festival Oct. 31
Dublin Family Worship (formerly Calvary Fellowship) will be hosting a free Harvest Festival at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.

Their will be games, candy, music and food. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event. The church is located at 604 N. Patrick St.

Costume Contests set for local businesses 
Both Shenanigans-Irish Pub and Backwoods are hosting Halloween costume contests.

At Backwoods, Bingo will begin at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31 with live music at 8:30 p.m. Kids costume contest will start at 8:30 p.m. with prizes awards and adult costume contest will begin at 10 p.m. with $1,000 for first place, four steak dinners for second place and a gift basket for third place.

Backwoods is located at 17157 Hwy. 377 South. At Shenanigans, cash prizes are awarded for their kid and teen costume contests. Their contest is from 6-7:30 and participants must be present to win.

Shenanigans is located at 112 S. Grafton St. in Dublin.

Deadline to be added to the map is Oct. 28 and the candy map will be shared on Facebook Oct. 30 on Dublin TX Chatter, The Dublin Citizen and The Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Annual Virtual Costume Contest starts Friday 
The Dublin Citizen, The Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Dairy Queen are hosting their annual Virtual Costume Contest Friday, Oct. 24 through Friday, Oct. 31.

To enter, send a photo of the participant with first name and age to either composing@dublincitizen.com or text to 903-268-7034.

The contest is open to all ages with three kids divisions, an adult division and a group division.

Cash prizes and gift cards will be awarded. Thanks for participating and having a spook-tacular Halloween.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest underway 
Salyer Chiropractic Company is hosting a pumpkin decorating contest this year with the deadline to enter being Oct. 24.

There are two categories: businesses and General. Rules are as follows: You can choose any pumpkin and any number of pumpkins to decorate. Carving is not permitted.

Decorate your pumpkin and drop it off at Salyer Chiropractic Clinic before Oct. 24 to enter. When you drop off the pumpkin, please bring them inside, give your phone number and name. A number will be assigned to pumpkins and they will be displayed.

Businesses are asked to attach a business card to their pumpkins. A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize will be awarded in each category on Nov. 3.

Salyer Chiropractic is located at 200 East Blackjack in Dublin.

The clinic invites everyone to stop by for candy and to view the pumpkins during Safe Trick-or-Treat.

15th annual Spirits of Erath Cemetery Walk set Nov. 2
The 15th annual Spirits of Erath Cemetery Walk will be held at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2 at the West End Cemetery.
Donations are $10 each for the performance.
The walk features the following local legendary characters: "Old Man" F.M. Snow, Rich Fagan, Betty Grant, Hogan Family and "The Spirit of the Road."
Spirits of Erath is a joint fundraiser for The Friends of the Dick Smith Library and The Stephenville Historical House Museum.
