Lonn Reisman, currently Place 3 councilmember on Stephenville City Council, is seeking to become Mayor in the special called Nov. 4 election.
Here are his responses from The Dublin Citizen candidate questionnaire.
Citizen: What is your background, education and family information?
Reisman: I am married to Misti Reisman. Between us, we have five children and twelve grandchildren. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from Pittsburg State University, Master of Science and Education from Arkansas State University. I have spent my entire career serving as a teacher, a coach, or an administrator.
Citizen: What is your occupation? Are there skills involved in the work that will help in serving a mayor?
Reisman: I am retired. I served 36 years as the head men’s basketball coach and athletic director at Tarleton State University. I can motivate and recruit! During my time as athletic director, I was responsible for multimillion dollar annual budgets and athletic facilities. I was responsible for the day-to-day duties of a variety of faculty and staff employees. I am confident that my experience has prepared me to serve as mayor.
Citizen: What made you decide to run for mayor after serving on council?
Reisman: My desire to serve the city in which my family and I have made our home inspired me to stand for election to the mayor’s seat.
Citizen: What is something you are most proud to have accomplished while on council? What needs improvement?
Reisman: I am proud to have contributed to the completion of the following capital improvement projects: ■ The new Dispatch Center
■ The Harbin Drive improvements
■ The Long Street improvements
■ The water well field expansion
■ The completion of two new water storage tanks. Construction is underway on a third water storage tank. Improvements are needed in these areas: ■ Affordable housing
■ Park facilities Citizen: What are some of your goals for Stephenville if elected as mayor?
Reisman: One of my goals is to work alongside the city council, city employees and citizens to promote Stephenville’s brand. Together, we will manage the city’s inevitable growth thoughtfully and carefully, so that this city will continue to be a stable, desirable place to live, work and enjoy our families.

Reisman:
■ Attending my grandchildren’s events
■ Working in the yard
