DeLeon Area Historical Society to host fish fry, gun raffle 
The DeLeon Area Historical Society will be hosting a fish fry and gun raffle from 5-7:30 p.m. (or until they run out) Saturday, Sept. 27 at the DeLeon City Auditorium.

Fish, fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw, drinks and dessert will be served and admission is donation only. Proceeds will benefit the preservation of the historical DeLeon MKT depot.

A gun raffle for a double barrel shotgun will be held with tickets for $20 each and only 100 tickets will be sold.

Tickets can be purchased at the fish fry.

Double N to host Family Fun Day Saturday
Double N Cowboy Church will host a Family Fun Day Saturday, Sept. 27 for its fall series including barrels, poles, misc events, food and drinks. Books open at 9 a.m. with events beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Competitors must compete in two of the three fun days to qualify for series prizes and they must qualify in spring and fall series to qualify for year-end awards. Competitors must compete in same age group for spring and fall.
Age grounds include lead line, 10 and under, 11 to 17 and 18 and over. For more info call 315-278-1127.

Heartland Renaissance Festival to host Oktoberfest Tournament
Heartland Renaissance Festival will be hosting an Oktoberfest Tournament Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5. 
Join them for the Tournament of Realms - the Heartlands' most thrilling combat tournament and reenactment event held during Oktoberfest celebration.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for kids (12 and under) with admission free for first responders and veterans.
Historical based competition, food, beer and wine, games, shows and more are all part of the tournament.
Heartlands is located at 14450 Hwy. 36 in Gustine. 

Dublin Elementary, Intermediate PTO to host Fall Festival Oct. 3 
Dublin Elementary School will be hosting its annual Fall Festival from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at Dublin Memorial Stadium across from the elementary school.

There will be more than 30 games and activities, jump houses and a mechanical bull, food trucks and vendors and photo opportunities.

$20 wristbands are available or $1 tickets. Admission will be taken at the gate and costumes are encouraged!

The community is asked to donate bags of candy for the event and those with students can simply send it school with their child to be entered into a drawing for a free fall festival wristband.

Harris' Old West Pumpkin Patch to open Saturday, Oct. 4
The Harris' Old West Pumpkin Patch will be opening the first weekend in October and will be open every weekend from 8 a.m. until dark located at 1129 CR 304 in Dublin.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids which includes wagon rides, games, concessions, photo opportunities and live music every weekend. A wide assortment of pumpkins are available for purchase.

Elks Lodge to host free youth fishing day 
The Stephenville Area Elks Lodge will be hosting a free Youth Fishing and Water Safety Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at Copperas Creek at Lake Proctor.

The event is open to kids ages 8-13 and a water safety program will be provided by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Lone Star Firework Festival set Oct. 10-11
Lone Star Fireworks Festival will be held Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11 at Stasey Field at Chalk Mountain.
The event will include pyromusical fireworks, flame effects, drone shows, music, food and fun.
Friday night is free and Saturday night tickets are available at lonestarfireworksfestival.com. 
All proceeds benefit the Foster's Home for Children in Stephenville. The festival is at 4137 CR 196 in Bluff Dale (off Hwy. 67 between Stephenville and Glen Rose).
