Canines & Coffee set for Sept. 13 Erath County Humane Society will be hosting its 2nd annual Canines & Coffee 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at the shelter.

There will be vendors, games for the kids, bouncy house and live music along with TikTok Influencer Nick Luciano.

It will be held in the field next to the shelter and serves as a fundraiser for the new building.

Elks Lodge to host fishing with a Veteran Are you a veteran living with disabilities or PTSD? Join us for a relaxing day of fishing, good food and great company, hosted by the Stephenville Area Elks Lodge. There is no cost, just come out and enjoy!

Gear and lunch is provided. The event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at Copperas Creek at Lake Proctor located at 2180 FM 2861.

Comanche County Museum to host Quanah Parker Day All are welcome to visit the Comanche County Museum from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 for the museum's annual Quanah Parker Day celebration.

Guests will include Lee White, Rod Corpus and Dale Acker who has Quanah Parker's pocket watch. They will show Artifacts about Quanah Parker and Native Comanche Indians Refreshments including cookies and punch will be served.

The museum is free but donations are accepted.

Joint Dispatch groundbreaking Monday Erath County invites all citizens to come to a groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 for the new joint dispatch center project.

Please join our community to celebrate this milestone event, organizers said.

The new center will be located at 320 W. College St. in Stephenville, and refreshments will be served.
