Canines & Coffee set for Sept. 6
Erath County Humane Society will be hosting its 2nd annual Canines & Coffee 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at the shelter.
There will be vendors, games for the kids, bouncy house and live music along with TikTok Influencer Nick Luciano.
It will be held in the field next to the shelter and serves as a fundraiser for the new building.
Comanche County Museum to host Quanah Parker Day
All are welcome to visit the Comanche County Museum from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 for the museum's annual Quanah Parker Day celebration.
Guests will include Lee White, Rod Corpus and Dale Acker who has Quanah Parker's pocket watch. They will show Artifacts about Quanah Parker and Native Comanche Indians Refreshments including cookies and punch will be served.
The museum is free but donations are accepted.

County, city rolling out tire collection
Erath County and the City of Dublin are hosting a free tire disposal event Saturday. Sept. 6 at the public works yard (602 N. Norton).
Tires will be collected from 8 a.m. to noon or until the trailer is full. This event follows a well-attended collection event held by the City in which trailers were filled quickly.
Those dropping off tires must show proof of residence in Erath County. Car, trailer or vehicle tires will be accepted. No truck tires or wheels. Event is open to residents, not businesses.
